ASDC urges govt to solve KLNLF demands

The Autonomous State Demand Committee has welcomed the KLNLF for entering the peace process by laying down arms on Thursday before the government for the sake of finding peaceful solution in Karbi Anglong and NC Hills. The ASDC has extended their appreciation to the KLNLF leadership for joining the mainstream after more than one and half decade of grueling struggle and sacrifices for the great cause of “Hemprek Kangthim”. ASDC leaders have expressed hope that both the State and the central governments will sincerely take up initiatives to start formal political dialogue for resolving the longstanding political issues raised by the KLNLF. The surrendered include ammunitions included 26 different varieties of weapons, they deposited 20 AK series assault rifles, 17 AK series rifles, 5 Nos of M-16 series rifles, USG gun – 1, Light Machine Gun - 1, Six Nos of 40 mm gun , One Rifle Launcher, One RPG - 4, SLR- 3, .22 pistol – 2, US Carbine – 1, M- 21 rifle – 4, Stand Carbine – 3, MP- 54, RDX- 500 grams, IID- 2, 3.6. gun- 3, SBBL- 5, DBBL – 2, UBBL 29, 9 mm pistol – 13, .32 pistol – 13, 9380 rounds of bullets, 25 KG- TNT, , 14 nos of radio base, Time devise – 2. Meanwhile the the Karbi Students’ Association , Central Committee has extended its gratitude to the Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front for coming into peace parlay with the Government by decommissioning its arsenal at Diphu in presence of the Chief Minister of Assam on friday. The KSA leaders have expressed the hope that KLNLF’s charter of demands will be solved with a stipulated period of time as promised by the Union government.
