Reacting to reports in the local dailies in Nagaland that it has already surrendered arms, the Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF) has clarified that it has only decommissioned its arms conditionally i.e, joint custody. KLNLF publicity secretary, Rejak Dera in a clarification said the arms were decommissioned on the invitation of the government of India to hold political dialogue in order to pave way for peaceful solution. He said the charter of demand was yet to be formulated and political dialogue has not ensued. “…therefore the question of surrender does not arise at all,” Deka clarified. The KLNLF also reaffirmed its stand and commitment that no peace package or economic package could substitute its genuine aspirations for dignified and honourable political settlement.
