Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress will not hesitate to raise its voice in Parliament to pressurise the government to work for development of the North East states, party MP and in-charge of Arunachal Pradesh Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar told mediapersons here this morning. ‘’Mamata di always wanted that the fruits of development should percolate down to this region at par with other provinces of the country,’’ the MP said, adding she was directed by Banerjee to visit the state to take stock of the fire tragedy at a private hostel in Palin on Wednesday which claimed 14 tiny tots. Referring to the fire tragedy she commented that it was not appropriate to blame anybody but the whole system needs to be changed immediately to avoid similar incident in the future, as reported by UNI. ‘’The state government should enforce strict rules and regulations on private schools and hostels to avoid recurrence of such tragedy,’’ she added. Informing that the Trinamool Congress has already established base in eight states of the country and eyeing for more. ‘’With people exuding confidence on our leadership and concern for the poor, our party is sure to earn more peoples’ support in the years to come,’’ Kakoli commented. ‘’Our party will convene the All India Trinamool Congress convention soon at New Delhi where several agendas will be chalked out on which our party’s cadres will work,’’ she disclosed, adding the five MLAs of the party would put all their efforts in bringing development to this land-locked state. On the proposed railway line from Harmutty (in Assam) to Itanagar, the MP assured that she would apprise Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee of the matter so that necessary provision could be made in the coming budget.
