AST Bangalore celebrates 25th anniv

Ao Senso Telongjem Bangalore (ASTB) celebrated silver jubilee on February 15 on the theme ‘Yakpangsuba Aser Terenlok’- Leadership and progress at All Saints Church Hall, Bangalore. Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce president, M. Bendangnukshi Longkumer who is also the founding general secretary of NSU Bangalore graced the celebration as chief guest. Speaking on the theme of the jubilee, Bendangnukshi said “we need not only be the first but also be a consistent leader in everything.” He also encouraged gathering on how to contribute more to Naga Society by being privileged to be in Bangalore whether working or studying. He illustrated the experiences of his stay in Bangalore as a youth which in turn helped him to achieve many things later in life. Highlights of the event include folk songs and other songs presented by the members of Ao Senso Telongjem. Around 450 people attended the programme. Other guests who were present at the programme included Wb. Moa Jamir who also encouraged on the occasion to be true leaders and contribute to the Naga Society. Pastor Gaven Cunningham exhorted the people from the Gospel and also encouraged them not to lose the “Ao-ness”. Meanwhile, along with the 25 years celebration, a book authored by K. Tialiba Longkumer, president, ASTB, was released, titled: “Lenisoba Ocet”. A jubilee souvenir in the form of a booklet written by N. Lipok Jamir and K. Wapongmeren Longkumer was also released by the chief guest. A press release received through mail stated that finding committee of jubilee resolved to carry forward the theme of leadership, progress and unity for the next 25 years till the golden jubilee. Meanwhile, Ao Senso Telongjem Bangalore has expressed gratitude to all individuals, organizations and well-wishers who had supported financially, intellectually and physically in making the jubilee a success.
