On the final day of screening at the army recruitment rally conducted at Indira Gandhi stadium Kohima, approximately 600 candidates of various categories, underwent the Recruitment tests/screening.
According to a defence release, on Tuesday, youth from all over north eastern states, including those from Churachandpur and Chandel districts of Manipur were put through their paces by Col Baljeet Singh and his team from the army recruitment office, Jorhat. The previously screened candidates, who had cleared the physical fitness tests and physical measurements, are being examined for the validity of their documents and undergoing medical fitness tests. So far more than 800 candidates have passed the tough 1-mile run and are undergoing various subsequent stages of screening, added the defence release.
Meanwhile, director recruiting of army recruiting office, Rangapahar has clarified that candidates are being selected for various regiments of the Indian Army and not for any specific Battalion or Unit, per se.
