ANTA calls off agitation

The proposed agitation called by All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) on Tuesday over the shifting of parking lot was finally called off after the administration and the association came to and agreement to give a trail run. The district administration who were determined for shifting the parking stand of the regional taxis plying between Dimapur and Kohima made certain modification in the taxi parking by allowing the passenger coming from Dimapur side and also picking up passengers at Naga Hospital junction where local taxis were made available to ferry them while the taxi would be latter allowed to proceed to New Market side and park. The association leaders agreed to the proposal for trial run. After the agitation was called off by ANTA, the state police and regional transport authority were seen fully mobilized since morning and were seeing streamlining regional taxis from the town area towards the newly allotted parking areas. All the top Police officials of Kohima DEF led by SP, Zekotso Mero, Addl. SP T.Metha, SDPO Chinese and OC North PS N.Chadi along with RTO Kohima Muzai Teseo and SDO (Sadar) were seen personally monitoring and inspecting the new taxi parking area.
