LRC-Naga cemetery road inaugurated

: A black topped road about 2000 meters from LRC colony to Naga cemetery via Island colony, one of the most neglected roads in Dimapur town was inaugurated on Tuesday. The black topped road stretch was jointly inaugurated by NPF central, general secretary Blaise and a senior citizen of the colony, Yajen Aier, (retd) Director in the Education department, government of Nagaland in the presence of DMC chairperson, Khekaho Assumi, Ward number 10 councilor I .Nungsang Jamir, DMC members, NFP vice president, Dimapur unit and representative of both the council members of Island colony, Lake view colony and many other public leaders of both the colonies. Yajen Aier, while lauding the work initiated by the DMC in black topping some part of the road in the colony said that the roads leading to Naga cemetery had been the most neglected road in whole of Dimapur town and such development in the colony was the need of the hour. He termed the work initiated by DMC as excellent and advised the councilors to undertake such projects to make difference in the locality. Meanwhile, the senior citizen also wished that the present councilors in the DMC to return in the council to continue the developmental work in the municipal wards. DMC chief speaking to the colony representatives said that after the change of guard in the DMC, maximum developmental works and projects such as drainage systems, waste bins, tube wells, pavements, roads construction and black toppings of ward roads have been initiated. Khekaho also challenged the colony representative in electing leaders who do good for the people, they represented. He further said that the funds for such developmental works in Dimapur had been purely generated by the Dimapur Municipal Council. I Nungsang Jamir, the ward councilor while delivering the word of thanks said that developmental work was initiated to benefit both the residents of Island colony and Lake View colony and for the whole of ward number 10. Earlier, representatives of Island and Lake View colonies thanked the DMC for undertaking this project which has been in the minds of the colony residents. Representatives appealed to DMC to undertake many developmental projects in ward number 10 of the DMC especially from Khermahal Junction to Naga cemetery as it was a strategic location for citizens of Dimapur.
