The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of North East Hills University (NEHU) here has threatened to resume agitations if no agreement on restoration of normalcy in the University was reached by tomorrow.
This was decided during a meeting of the JAC held here yesterday. NEHU employees, including teaching staff, had suspended their agitation on February 1 following an apology tendered by Vice-Chancellor Pramod Tandon.
JAC Chairman SB Prasad had earlier warned that the agitation might be launched as and when needed, depending on the assessment of the situation in the near future, as reported by UNI. The NEHU teaching and non-teaching employees were agitating for nearly 45 days to press for fulfilment of various demands, including removal of the Vice-Chancellor for his alleged financial irregularities.
