Health care camp
DIMAPUR: District Investigative Unit (DIU) Dimapur along with 14 MFVH Rangapahar will be conducting health care camp on February 19 for Aoyimsen, Ao Khel, Ao Kashiram, Rilan, Nepali Kashiram and Industrial Estate villages from 9am onwards at DIU, Vety & AH Department, near Delai Gate Dimapur. Public have been informed to attend and avail free treatment and vaccination.
Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress
DIMAPUR: The first state executive meeting of Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) for the current year will be held in presence of Mridul Gogoi, Secretary of Indian Youth Congress and in charge of Nagaland on February 19, 1 pm at Congress Bhawan, Kohima. Medical fitness test
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Public Service Commission has notified all candidates selected for Viva-Voce of NCS, NPS, NSS & Allied Services Examination 2009 that Medical Fitness test would be conducted by State Medical Board on February 22, 10am at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima conference hall (New Building 2nd floor). All candidates have been informed to report for the test.
‘Science Express’ to reach Dmu
DIMAPUR: A ‘Science Express’, an innovative science exhibition mounted on train will be halting at Dimapur on February 19 and 20 at Dimapur railway station from 10 am to 5 pm. DC, Dimapur has informed all heads of Schools and Colleges, both Government and Private to send students along with teacher guides to visit the exhibition. The exhibition has been organized by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
W’shop on geographical indications
DIMAPUR: A workshop on geographical indications sensitization would be held on February 19, 9.30 am at the Conference Hall of Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Kohima with Chief Secretary, Lalthara IAS as chief guest. The workshop is jointly organised by Government of Nagaland, Ministry of DONER and the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks.
Designing workshop underway in Pfutsero
DIMAPUR: A designing workshop in collaboration with All India Artisans and Craft Workers Welfare Association (AIACA) New Delhi is underway in T. Chikro Pfütsero. The fifteen day workshop is organised by Chakhesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS) at Welfare Building. Designer Rudranil Das from Bengal is assisting weavers from different areas of Phek district in the training.
According to the Chakhesang Women Welfare Society, the training has been organised to educate skilled artisans about creative development and to tap potentials in bigger markets to export their handmade and handloom products. The workshop will conclude on February 25.
VBS, CET trg deferred
DIMAPUR: Vacation Bible School (VBS) NLN NEI director, H. Hammei Buchem has informed that training programme for VBS and Christian Education Teachers (CET) scheduled to be held in February has been extended to March 11-14 due to unavoidable circumstances.
All churches have been requested to send respective staff of Sunday school, Child Evangelism, VBS and Youth departments, pastors and interested persons with sponsorship at Life Spring Corner Dimapur on March 11 at 11am along with light bedding, Bible, note book and pen/pencil.
Participants have been informed to submit registration fee of Rs.200 and Rs.1000 as fooding charge.
Award for HSLC toppers
DIMAPUR: Kohima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) has constituted HSLC Excellency Award for students studying in 16 Government Schools under Kohima district. The board has announced that prize money with certificate will be awarded to students who reach Top 50 in HSLC Exam 2010. The Board has also earmarked Rs.10,000 for any student who could make it up to the rank of Top 50. In absence of any deserving awardees, the award would be given to student securing highest marks by lowering prize money to Rs.5000.
Chiephobozou to celebrate 42 yrs of township
KOHIMA: The 42nd year celebration of Chiephobozou Township will be held on February 26, 9 am at Indoor stadium Chiephobozou. Kohima DC Bieu Angami and ADC Chiephobozou Rovilato Mor will be the chief guests for inaugural programme. The Chiephobozou Central Council has invited all public leaders, departmental officials and citizens under Northern Angami regions to attend the occasion.
CASU to check irregular employees
DIMAPUR: Chare Area Students’ Union (CASU) has appealed to all government employees serving under Chare area to be sincere and regular in their duties. CASU president Dongchem informed that union would conduct surprise checking anytime and action would be taken against those employees found irregular in their duties.
RD dept caution villages on jungle fire
KOHIMA: The department of Rural Development has cautioned all government recognized villages in the state that VDB grants would be withheld if instance of jungle burning by individual or village community due to accident on negligence was reported. The department said notification was in line with the resolution adopted during VDB and communitization conference held from November 30-December 1 at Gangeshnagar Dimapur.
Expressing concern over random burning of jungle in various parts of the state which caused ecological and environmental imbalance, the department asked all its project directors to inform village authorities/VDBs etc in their respective jurisdictions for strict compliance so as to avoid any consequences.
