Inauguration of Totsu village
DIMAPUR: Totsu village in Wozhuro range would be inaugurated on February 19, 11am, by Wepretso Mero (NCS), deputy commissioner, Wokha, as chief guest for the inauguration ceremony. Yansathung Jami, president, Kyong Hoho would also grace the occasion as guest of honour. The village Chairman and council members has invited all well wisher to the ceremony.
DCFC, CMCF orientation rescheduled
DIMAPUR: Meeting of Kohima District Corpus Fund Committee (DCFC) to be held at DC’s Confernece Hall has been rescheduled to February 22, 1 pm and orientation programme for CMCF, 2009-10 selected beneficiaries to March 2, 11 am. Motivation workshop for students

WSBAK revival hour in Toluvi village
DIMAPUR: A three- day revival hour organized by Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) will begin February 19 at Toluvi village. The service timings will start at 8 am, 12 noon and 4 pm respectively. Organisers informed that worship service will be held in the evening on the first day. On Saturday morning service will be held especially for government servants and entrepreneurs/businessmen and family dedication service at 12 noon. A special healing service will also be held in the morning service on Sunday. Speakers include Rev. Dr. Melinda, President, International Foundation Ministries from USA, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, Director, Sumi Baptist Convention, Rev. S. Vitoshe Swu Executive Secretary.
Thilixu village patta registration
DIMAPUR: All plot holders under Thilixu village jurisdiction have been informed to avail village patta and council registration certificate from head GB and council respectively within February 28 with effect from February 18. Thilixu village council chairman L. Khevishe Achumi informed that without village patta and council registration, any activities would not be entertained and village authority would not be held responsible in any circumstances. Further, it stated that any case and dispute that arose within the village would be dealt by the village authority and also informed departments not to entertain any cases outside the village jurisdiction unless approved by the village council and verified to the higher authority.
KSU assembly session
DIMAPUR: Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) will hold its 2nd union assembly session for the term 2008-10 on February 19 at LTC Hall, Wokha at 10am. Union has informed all federating units that collection of agendas would be done before commencement of assembly proceedings. Units seeking affiliation and re-affiliation for membership to KSU have also been directed to collect forms and criteria from assembly secretariat and submit the completed forms to Union assembly speaker for verification and necessary approval. Constituent units failing to attend union assembly session for two consecutive terms have been informed that disciplinary action would be taken against them which would result to barring of voting rights at general election.
State BJP president greet new members
DIMAPUR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland president, M. Chuba has extended greetings to newly elected party office bearers for the next term at all levels, Cells and Morchas in the state. He also advised them to be committed in their new assignments with discipline in serving the people within their respective jurisdictions. NE Barak Festival 2010
DIMAPUR: Youth Hope Foundation will be organizing a mega event ‘Seven Sisters Barak Festival 2010’ on March 29 and 30 at Senapati town, Manipur.
The event will highlight cultural dance competition, indigenous cultural exhibitions, traditional fashion show and Seven Sisters Miss Barak 2010 contest where the winner would be awarded a prize of Rs.1 lakh, Rs.50,000 and Rs.30,000 to 1st and 2nd runners up respectively. Seven Sisters Miss Barak 2010 contest would be open to individuals from the seven sisters-states of the North East.
Nagaland circle organizing committee has informed that application forms would be issued free of cost and interested persons may download entry form from www.barakfestival.tk. The event is being organized to accommodate people from various cultures from the seven sisters-states. DIMAPUR: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party leaders consisting of state RJD vice president, Zengdibo Meriamai; state RJD Yuva secretary, Ramtam; RJD Peren Women president, Aninge; RJD Peren president, N. John Zeliang; RJD Peren (Yuva) president, Sanlakbo; RJD 6-Tening A/C president, Namkiabui; RJD 6-Tening A/C Women president, Withinne; and RJD 6-Tening A/C Yuva president, Didau have resigned from RJD and joined NPF, stated a joint release issued by the resigned members.
