With both the Nagaland contractors’ and suppliers’ union (NCSU) and Khezhienuomia Youth Organization (KYO) demanding an apology from the ENSF for having defamed its members through the media so as to resolve the imbroglio, the federated units of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) have rejected the demand and instead asked the former to physically inspect the construction sites. The war of words between the two parties intensified Wednesday with Nagaland contractors’ and suppliers’ union (NCSU) units of Zunheboto and Wokha demanding apology from ENSF and urging to retract its statements while ENSF units demanded KYO to retract all its statements. NSCU Zunheboto unit general secretary P. Kiyelu Awomi while asserting that ENSF had crossed the line by making undue statement against NCSU president, in a release, said any social organization regardless of its status should act as “constructive pressure group.” In a separate note, the NCSU Wokha unit president O.Ovung and secretary Akhyow Kithan urged the ENSF to solve the matter with the responsible authority as per norms of contract works. ENSF units react Meanwhile, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) units including Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) and United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) Wednesday came out strongly in support of ENSF’s action and said that consensus decision (of blacklisting) was resolved January 20 last. Reacting to Khezhienuomia youth organization (KYO), which summoned ENSF officials to before D. Khel council hall, Kohima village, the KSU president Khongjah, YAA president L.S. Ato Yimchungrü and USSC president Likhum, in a joint release, said no individual or organisation should dictate ENSF, as the latter represented one third of Nagaland, and was “not like a colony or village organisation.” Stating that ENSF was not against anybody but against the “poor workmanship”, the signatories urged KYO to verify the spot and justify to the people of the state, if it was a responsible organisation. ENSF units further urged KYO to retract all its statements, made against the federation.
