Centre to provide rs 1800 cr to Arunachal under SPA

Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy today assured Arunachal Pradesh government to provide funds under Non-Plan and Special Plan Assistance (SPA) to complete various developmental projects in the state. The Minister conveyed his assurance to Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu before leaving for New Delhi this morning, official sources informed. The commitment included an amount of Rs 300 crore under ‘Non-Plan’ and another Rs 300 crore under ‘Plan’ to meet up the liabilities of Sixth Pay Commission implementation for the state government staff, sources informed. The sources said an amount of Rs 1,200 crore under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) would also be provided for undertaking various developmental activities. ‘’The UPA government is satisfied with the performance of the state government and the pace of development under your leadership. It is elated over the results of recently concluded Parliamentary and Assembly polls in the state,’’ Narayanasamy, also AICC general secretary, commented, as reported by UNI. Earlier, the Union Minister, along with Khandu, inspected various ongoing projects like construction of Secretariat Building and Assembly Building. They were accompanied by AICC secretary Sanjay Bapna, sources added.
