The new office complex of Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Nihokhu was inaugurated by Maongwati Aier, deputy commissioner, Dimapur as chief guest in presence of administrative officers, GBs and public leaders of the area at EAC Nihokhu Hq on Saturday. The function was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Niuland sub division Anenla T Sato.
Addressing the gathering, Maongwati greeted the people in Sumi dialect and said it was a historic day for the people of Nihokhu. He also stated that it was because of the people of the area that the development could come and further urged the people to move forward with peace.
Chief guest also said that because of Christianity Nagas saw progress and advancement in the society and as Christians one should choose the righteous path of life and ensure peace and the spirit of unity in the society. Also stressing on the development, he disclosed that 1100 village guards would soon be deployed in areas bordering Assam to maintain peace in the area, which would benefit the public in every aspect.
On the memorandum submitted to the DC by the Nihokhu Area G.B’s Union, DC said the EAC headquarter of Nihokhu was one of the oldest Circle Office of district and therefore the administration will recommend for its up-gradation. He was hopeful that it would be soon upgraded to SDO headquarter.
Pointing out that opening of offices was to give service to the people, he called upon the public to respect and co-operate with the concerned officers to bring about good administration in the area.
He encouraged the people to give importance to human resource development in order to bring all round development in the area and to learn banking and investment to boost the economy of the area.
Heyito Achumi, Chairman, Nihokhu Area GB’s Union and Ghosuho Zhimo, former head GB of Nihokhu village also spoke on the occasion.
