Agri-link road constructed for Rusoma village

An Agri-link road constructed under NREGA scheme was inaugurated at Rusoma village Saturday. Tethekeca-Phriezou Agri-link road which was constructed under the Scheme by Rusoma villagers during last year was formally inaugurated by Visasole Lhoungu, Project Director DRDA, Kohima in a simple function held at Tethekeca. Addressing the occasion, Project Director lauded Rusoma villagers for successful implementation of the NREGA scheme and said that Agri-link road was the first project under NREGAS to be inaugurated under Chiephobozou sub-division. With the successful completion of Agri-link road, the department can now bring central official to Rusoma to showcase the project as another success in the implementation of NREGAS in the district. Lhoungu also said NREGAS funds in the state was not based the number of household in the village but based on the job card holders. Stating that state government had decided to award additional funds to those performing and developing villages in the state, he encourage villagers to be sincere in utilizing development funds provided by the government. He also revealed that there were certain complaints for utilizing fund under NREGAS in construction of road but at the same time justifed that in hilly state like Nagaland, developing road connectivity was very important for overall development. Further, he also enlightened the gathering on various government schemes including both from the state and centre and asked the villagers to avail the scheme. After the formal inaugural function, the project director DRDA also inspected the newly constructed Agri link road stretching about a kilometer which had so far entered the heart of a vast terrace field belonging to the Rusoma villagers.
