As part of continued development programme of Dimapur Municipal Council, a blacked topped road at Bank Colony under DMC Ward No. 5 was inaugurated Saturday by Khekaho Assumi, Chairperson, DMC in the presence of DMC councilors, GBs, colony members and students.
Inaugurating the road, Khekaho said everyone should have a vision which should be followed in action and in doing so DMC team led by him had achieved something in reaching out to the people through development.
He boasted that DMC team led by him had done more developmental works in Dimapur – I and II than the works done by leaders in the capacity of MLAs.
He stressed on the need to include the youth in deciding the future of the society as youth could better understand feeling of younger generation who made up more than half of the population.
He called upon the Dimapurians to put hands, minds and hearts together and work to make Dimapur a better place to live in.
Delivering a short speech, Kuhoi Zhimo DMC members representing Ward No. 5 praised DMC chairperson for his able leadership. He said that under the leadership of Khekaho the DMC have been able to take up various developmental projects which the public is now enjoying.
Council chairman of Bank Colony, who chaired the function, said that the road remained unattended and neglected for many years. On behalf of the entire colony he thanked Khekaho Assumi and his team.
Rev. Dr. T. N. Lotha invoked God’s blessing, while students of Eastern Bible College presented a special number.
