DIMAPUR: The Khonoma Youth Organisation (KYO) while reaffirming to uphold the conservation of eco-system as officially being declared as “conserved forest” in 1998 has notified all responsible that encroaching or illegal collection of flora and fauna within the land would be penalized as per the law of the land. This has been informed in a press note issued by Megovisa Sophi, president KYO.
DOE general meet
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Okotsoe Ekhung (DOE) has convened the annual general meeting on February 27 at 9am at Lotha Hoho Ki, near Court junction Dimapur. E. Ngully, general secretary DOE has requested all responsible members to attend the meeting.

Shihaphumi village council informs
DIMAPUR: Shihaphumi Village Council (SVC) has directed all purchasers of land under its jurisdiction to produce their land documents /sale deeds / NOC to the village council within 30 days. The council has stated that even after the lapse of no documents had been received and the council presumed that no land had been purchased within the village jurisdiction. In this regard the council has informed that no claim of land could be made within the jurisdiction without the approval of the village council.

VDB union Chukitong meet
DIMAPUR: The VDB union R.D block Chukitong under Wokha district has convened an emergency meeting on February 25, at 10am, at Hotel Nili (Kikon Shopping Complex, Tsumang “B”) Wokha. Chairman, V.D.B Union R.D. Block Chukitong, Ezanimo Kikon ahs requested all village chairmen and VDB secretaries to attend the meet, and failing which, it added the union would initiate disciplinary action. Members have also been requested to contact its union chairman for further details.
IGNOU induction meeting
DIMAPUR: The induction meeting for B.Ed January 2010 session under Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been convened on February 27 at 10:30am at IGNOU Programme study centre, Salt Christian College of Teacher Education, Dimapur. All the trainees enrolled at the centre have been requested to attend the meeting and to bring along their identity card.
KOHIMA: Nagaland State Excise Kohima district posted at check gate on Sunday under the command of Assistant inspector Neizielolie seized a total of 364 bottles of 750 IMFL from Chandra Gupta s/o Lt. Thapa Gupta, Nyambemo Lotha s/o T. Lotha and Kipu Singh. The duty party comprised of Akum Ao Hd/C, Perheizetuo Hd/C and constables Vimedo, Doulhouto, Akho, Masatoshi, Vitsathrong, Tsacho, Khehoshe, Akiip, Teliya, Chingmak. The accused persons have been penalized under Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act 1989 and the articles deposited to the Malkhana.
NPF 53 Tsg Sadar-1 reaffirms
DIMAPUR: NPF party organizations under Tuensang Sadar-1 A/C have reaffirmed support and expressed confidence in the good governance of DAN government led by chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and party president, Dr. Shurhozelie. JPN bans hunting, fishing
DIMAPUR: Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN) has banned hunting, fishing and collection of natural resources within Jalukie jurisdiction. In a press note issued by Irai, secretary JPN has urged the general public to take utmost care for prevention of unwanted fire and further warned that if anyone found violating the norms, their weapons would be seized and also fine would be imposed as per the law of the land. Meanwhile, JPN has appealed to the general public to cooperate in order to protect the ecology and environment.
Chumu EAC directs residents
DIMAPUR: In view of the ongoing blacktopping of road from 2nd gate Chumukedima National Highway 39 up to Seiruzha colony at Chumukedima under the department of urban development, all residents adjoining the road have been directed not to obstruct construction of drainage or road but to cooperate with the contractor and labourers for timely completion of work. Extra assistant commissioner and executive officer, Chumukedima Town Council, B. Henok Buchem directed ward GBs headed by the head GB of Chumukedima town to be present in the site to handle “such situation” in case of non- copperation from the public. Further authorities in-charge have also been requested to construct speed breakers near public places specially Saint Savio and Mt Mary schools.
