Nikhil stresses on road connectivity

Governor of Nagaland, Nikhil Kumar emphasized the need to maintain road connectivity to the villages in the state. Addressing the meeting of AHoDs and HoDs on Monday at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima, the governor also urged the power department to give more effort to meet the power requirements of the state. He further encouraged the state government to plan and set up e-governance for better performance. He lauded the senior officers for their positive contributions towards the welfare of the people. Welcoming the governor, state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio said that the governor, with his vast experience, could guide the officials in the field of development in various fields. Lauding the efforts of the senior officials for the achievement of the government during the past few years, the chief minister urged them to help and supplement each other for the benefit of the people. Stating that the government had declared the year 2010-11 as the ‘Year of Entrepreneurs, ’ Rio urged the entrepreneurs to participate in their best capacity. He also informed the house that the ensuing Census 2011 should be conducted fairly in order to prepare an accurate and reliable census. According to DIPR, those who attended the meeting, among others, included minister for power, Doshehe Sema, minister for school education Nyiewang Konyak and home minister, Imkong L. Imchen. State chief secretary Lalthara chaired the meeting.
