A day after state PWD (NH) chief engineer appealed for calmness on controversial NH-155 issue, the Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) Tuesday resolved to urge PWD works and housing to publish the list of contractors who were allocated with works on NH-155 so as to educate and create awareness among the public. The union, which held its general body meeting at its head office here today, also resolved to request state commissioner and secretary work and housing to release details including location of work allocated against which contractor or firm, terms and conditions of contract, time period of contract and progress of works, NCSU sources told Nagaland Post. NCSU was also learnt to have resolved to condemn ENSF act of blacklisting contractors by taking law into their own hands and seek clarification from the federation to specify the location/Km of the photograph, which was purportedly taken during the spot verification and published in some local press. The meet also regretted the statement made by Chang students’ union, alleging NCSU officials of masterminding the poor quality workmanship in their area.It may be mentioned that after ENSF February 9 last blacklisted three “erring” 1st phase contractors/firms of NH-155 for “poor workmanship”, the NCSU and its units including contractor, KYO and DYO on one hand and the ENSF and its units on the other hand, had locked horns, with both the parties defending their rights while fiercely launching attacks on each other.
