Former NPCC president, K.V. Pusa on Tuesday said that the change of leadership in the congress party in the state was for the better and expressed hope that the new leaderships would do well for the party. Speaking on the sidelines of the Chakhroma Wrestling meet at Medziphema, where he was the chief guest, Pusa said he was happy on both occasions of his appointment and removal as NPCC president. He expressed gratitude to the Congress high command for letting him sit at the helm of party affairs in the state though for a short period. Pusa said he tried his best to reorganize the state congress and expressed satisfaction over the overall performance of the party during his short stint as the party president. Asked about the reasons for his removal as party president, Pusa replied he was not aware of the real reasons but added that Congress, being a democratic party, difference of opinions and clashes on different issues arose and that he was happy to abide by the decision of the congress high command. On the return of veteran Congress leader S. C. Jamir to state politics, Pusa said his advice as a senior party leader would be an advantage and hoped that the new leadership would make use of him to make the party stronger in the state. As one of the last cabinet ministers during the Nehru era, Jamir’s contribution to state politics as well national politics would be immense for the growth of the congress party, he added.
