Vendors asked to stop business on footpath

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has notified all footpath vendors within KMC to cease their business on the footpath as it had been causing inconveniences for vehicular movement creating traffic congestion and danger to life. Informing this in a press note issued by Sarah R. Ritse, executive officer KMC has also informed the public that dumping of building materials, loose soils, waste and others in an around Kohima city to be removed within 10 days from the date of issue of the notice. Further, KMC cautioned the public and business establishment that banning for burning of dust-bin has been strictly enforced and that dumping of waste materials in KMC dust-bin to be done before 6 am in the morning and after 4pm in the evening. KMC also cautioned that failing to comply with the order would be compelled to take stern action against the defaulters as per the provision of the rules.
