2 run over by trucks

Two cyclists were run over by trucks in Dimapur in separate incidents during the last 24 hours. On Wednesday, a cyclist was killed on the spot after he was run over by a truck (NL-01 A 4231) at Ekranipathar at around 3pm. Police sources said the deceased, Toni Momin aged 11, son of late Mohan Sangma resident of Ekranipathar, Dimapur was crushed to death on the spot by pebble laden truck, bound for Eralibill colony. Police sources said the case was compromised between the victim’s family and the truck owner with the intervention of the colony council members. The body was later handed over to the relatives after completing necessary formalities. Meanwhile in a delayed report, another cyclist was run over by truck (NL02 G 4108) on Tuesday at around 2.30 pm at Midland colony junction, Dimapur. The victim, Debblu Biswas (10), son of Ratan Biswas, resident of Sewak colony, Dimapur and a student of MGM Higher Secondary School was killed on the spot. Police said that the truck was returning from Sewak colony. While the truck has been seized by the Dimapur Traffic personnel, the driver was absconding and case registered under west police station Dimapur for further action.
