Nagaland Governor, Nikhil Kumar Wednesday described the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) Dimapur as one of the best of its kind in the region. Speaking at the inauguration of a new CT scan machine at CIHSR Dimapur, as the chief guest, Nikhil observed that the institute with its available services and facilities was an exemplary institute at par with many major institutes in the country. Keeping in mind that many people from Nagaland still sought medical services outside the state, he urged the professionals of the institute to be devoted to their services and continue their dedication in tending to the needs of people so that they might refer to CIHSR in the future instead of seeking medical help elsewhere outside the state. He encouraged the institute to remove its inadequacies and serve the people which would in turn render great service to the nation and further assured his support towards the institute. Expressing contentment in visiting the institute and meeting its team, the governor lauded the efforts that were being put together by the staff of the institute. Stating that holding a number of degrees was not everything when it came to disciplined dedication of a professional, he pointed out that what mattered was how people translated themselves into understanding. The governor asserted that CIHSR has become a promising place for people, not only the Nagas but also from various states in the region, who wanted quality medical care. CIHSR, a multi-specialty referral hospital has added the new CT scan machine with a view to enhance the diagnostic abilities of its doctors. CIHSR informed that the cost of getting a CT scan of the head would be rated at Rs.1950. Earlier, the chief guest unveiled the plaque and a dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Bizo.
