Editor Tir Yim Yim bereaved
DIMAPUR: S, Kosakchiba, a retired teacher and father of K.Temjen Jamir, Editor of Tir Yim Yim passed away after a brief illness Thursday evening at Dimapur. He was 77. Late S. Kosakchiba Jamir was born in 1933 in the native village Akhoya under Mokokchung district. He left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and 9 grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the family home at Changtongya town on February 6, 9 am and thereafter the body of late S. Kosakchiba Jamir will be laid to rest at Akhoya village the same day. Meanwhile, Dimapur Press Club has expressed grief over the demise of S. Kosakchiba Jamir, who passed away after a prolonged illness. DPC joined the bereaved family members at the hour of grief and prayed that Almighty God grant them solace and strength to bear the loss. It also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. Kohima Press Club (KPC) has also expressed sorrow over the sudden demise of Kosakchiba. KPC members paid condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that the Lord God Almighty provide solace and comfort to all the near and dear ones of the deceased.
DIMAPUR: Adhoc contract teachers (ACT) in Mokokchung district affected by the recent crisis in school education department have convened a meeting on February 8, 10 a.m in Longkumer Kilem conference hall, Mokokchung. All affected teachers have been informed to attend the meeting.

DIMAPUR: All members of new government primary schools under Dimapur district have been informed to attend a meting on February 10, 10 a.m. at deputy commissioner’s conference hall. The meeting would discuss details concerning government norms and opening of new school ahead of commencement of regular classes. All members of VCC, VDB secretaries, VEC and teachers- in- charge of 25 schools namely Hozheto, Yehokhu (Padala), Hezulho, Nikihe, Hokhezhe, Hukato, Aoyim, Zuvukhu, Aoyimchin, Ngamjalal, Hevukhu, Khitohe (Ghotoyi), Razaphe Basa, Tsungtruba, Dimapur Ward 2, Dimapur ward 4(Raigailong), Dimapur ward 13, Dimapur ward 20, Dimapur ward 23, Doshehe, Senjum, Ekranipathar, Virazouma (Tenyiphe111), Xelhozhe and new Chumukedima-B have been informed to attend the meet.
Zunheboto ANSTA meeting
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) Zunheboto unit has convened an executive meeting on February 6,1pm at the residence of its banker, Kanili Chishi, DC Hill. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting. Unit has further informed all teachers to submit membership fee and welfare fund to its president in the month of February.

DIMAPUR: Emergency meeting of Adhoc- Graduate Teachers’ Union (AGTU) has been convened on February 6, 10 a.m at GHSS, Dimapur. All graduate teachers have been informed to submit original documents for service regularization to district school education.

AR recruitment in Kohima
DIMAPUR: A recruitment rally for selecting eligible candidate from selected districts of Nagaland, Manipur and all districts of Mizoram for the Indian Army will be conducted at IG Stadium, Kohima from February 14 to 21.
Meanwhile, Army recruitment rally for selection of eligible candidates from selected districts of Nagaland will be conducted at Assam Rifles Ground, Mokokchung from February 8 to 10. According to an official bulletin, elaborate arrangements are being made by the district administration to conduct the recruitment rally efficiently.
ANSTA Niuland meet
DIMAPUR: A general meeting of All Nagaland School Teacher’s Association (ANSTA) Niuland sub-unit would be held on February 12, at 10am at Town Hall, Niuland. The meeting would deliberate on important issues.
SCD seek clarification
DIMAPUR: PWD area Sümi Council Dimapur (SCD)in a letter addressed to Chief Engineer Roads and bridges PWD Kohima has stated that on recommendation made the minister Road and Bridge under Sl No 15, the Sumi community council PWD applied for tender but the work was issued to some individual against the name of the community. A joint press release issued by Sumi PWD area general secretary Shikavi and chairman Kevishe Achumi has sought to know against whom and which firm the work order was issued.
LSYC clarifies on assault case
DIMAPUR: Clarifying to the article ‘KPK condemns assault’ which was published on February 2 the Lukikhe Shevishe Youth Club (LSYC) termed the incident as “unfortunate”. A press release issued by its president Shikheho Yeptho and vice president Vilopu Katty said in reality Hetoi Yeptho who was separating two friends “quarrelling in drunk” received minor injuries. Therefore the case was purely individual and further appealed to the KPK not to create any misunderstanding without knowing the facts in future which might hamper the good relationship.
Clarification on irregular FDS items
DIMAPUR: Refuting to the news item on ‘irregular supply of FDS items’ which was published in a local daily on February 3, the Fair Price Shop (FPS) licence holders under Pughuboto centre clarified that fair price shop licence have been receiving food grains regularly under various schemes. The five FPS licence holders under Pughuboto centre namely Akaho Pughuboto, Ahoka Asukiqa, Tovika Natsumi, Atoka Mishilimi, A. Atoka Mishilimi and Kaqheli Lazami in a press release said the distribution of food grains was done under the supervision of DBs as entrusted by PA to ADC Pughuboto.
DMWTU, MDWA to coordinate
DIMAPUR: A co-ordination meeting between Dimapur Motor Workers Trade Union (DMWTU) and Manipur Drivers’ Welfare Association (MDWA) was held on February 1 at DMWTU office. A press release issued by MDWA general secretary, M. Tomba Singh stated that both unions resolved to continue to help each other as in the past where association had entrusted DMWTU to deal with any incident and welfare activities of MDWA in and around Dimapur district. It has further informed that Manipur drivers based from Manipur would report to DMWTU office for any activities/incidents etc that would take place in Dimapur area.
Passion fruit farmers’ foundation day
DIMAPUR:Passion Fruits Farmers Association, Mokokchung District will be celebrating its 4th Foundation Day at Salangtem Ward Community Hall on February 9. District Horticulture Officer Mokokchung, Imrong and Secretary, MDFF Toshikaba will exhort the farmers on the occasion.
