Anomalies alleged in Police recruitment in Kohima

Serious anomalies have been reported into the newly commissioned 14th NAP (IR) Battalion and Mahila Battalion Recruitments conducted recently by Police Head Quarters (PHQ) Home department. Informing this Cusayi Lohe former Speaker of Naga Students Federation(NSF) said that with reference to newly commissioned 14th NAP (IR) Battalion and Mahila Battalion Recruitments conducted recently by Police Head Quarters.(PHG), Home department, it may be noted that the entire process of recruitment was illegal and devoid of proper Government procedures and pointed out that surprisingly, the department could not produce the necessary documents when some aggrieved candidates filed RTI petition seeking detail information on constitution of recruitment board, laid down rules and regulations, criteria for selection, government’s order/notification or department’s order/notification, as the case may be and the regulations under which the board should function. Former speaker NSF also alleged that candidates for constables, havildars, drivers, ABSIs, pharmacists, LDA cum computer assistants etc. were “hand picked” by ministers, parliamentary secretaries, MLAs, relatives of police officers and board members. He also disclosed that board chairman and members were randomly picked by minister in-charge without observing the government procedures and demanded that government should take immediate corrective measures and sack the minister in-charge.
