Committee to regulate price rise in Dimapur

Subsequent to a recent meeting with state home minister with regard to price rise control in Dimapur, a seven-member price regulatory committee (PRC) has been constituted under the chairmanship of DC Dimapur to monitor and regulate price rise in the district. According to an official order issued here Thursday by DC Dimapur and district level price monitoring committee chairman Maongwati Aier, other panel members include director food and civil supply, SP Dimapur, CEO Dimapur Municipal Council, CMO, assistant controller weight and measures and secretary chamber and commerce as member secretary. Besides studying the movement of retail price, whole sale price and consumer price index, the committee would monitor and regulate the whole sale price and retail price of essential commodities, the order stated. The committee would also analyse the average comparative statements to provide clear view of price movement during the month, it added. The seven-member panel would also ensure that consumer price index of Dimapur was strictly adhered to and price board displayed in all shops. Further, it would ensure that merchants of essential commodities coordinate effectively in order that price rice is brought down and uniform price maintained thought out the market. To stabilize the price rise of both essential and perishable commodities, the committee would also sit regularly and monitor. Consumers have also been directed to submit their grievances and comments to PRC for regulating the price in the market.
