MLA, advisor and sericulture cooperation Azheto Zhimomi has denied to District Congress Committee (DCC) press statement on remaining a “silent spectator” at the time of conducting teacher’s interview on February 4. The MLA stated that as chairman of Dimapur district planning board he had reserved prerogatives for surveillance of working systems for interest of the public and for implementation of government policies which was the reason for his visit. The MLA also stated that although he was affiliated to NPF, it was inappropriate to refer him as ‘NPF MLA’ as he was an elected representative member of the Legislative Assembly. He also reiterated that selection process of teachers was conducted by NBSE and the district selection board was appointed to assist to conduct the interview as such that depriving any candidate on the basis of political alliance, background or any other factor did not arise. He further stated that questioning his discretion and integrity and making “purported” statement in the media was an “immature antic” on the part of District Congress Committee anti corruption cell.
