Universal Day of prayer for students DIMAPUR: Universal Day of Prayer for Students (UDPS) will be celebrated on February 21 on the theme ‘Climate Justice’. Student Christian Movement of India (SCMI) has extended invitation to all individual Churches, bodies and organizations to be a part of the day of prayer. First celebrated in 1898, the Universal Day of Prayer for Students is observed on the third Sunday of February every year. The Universal Day of Prayer for Students (UDPS) is a historical event of the Student Christian Movements all over the world. SCMI, North East India Programme Secretary L. Aitis Yepthomi, in a press release has urged Churches to encourage its members to remember the students, teaching community and all the youth/student organizations in their prayer. NPF Mkg farmers wing meet DIMAPUR: Meeting of NPF Mokokchung farmers’ wing has convened a meeting on February 12, 10 am at the Division Office Mokokchung. All the A/C presidents and farmer’s wing executive committee members have been requested to attend the meeting. BACSU emergency meet DIMAPUR: An emergence meeting of Bendanglen Alir Chuchuyimalang Senso Union (BACSU) has been convened on February 11, 4pm at the residence of union treasurer A. Chiten Jamir, Padumpukhuri Dimapur. BACSU president M. Tsukjem Pongener has requested all the executive committee and office bearers to attend the meeting. NPF Kiphire welcome new members DIMAPUR: Naga People’s Front Kiphire has welcomed former members of Congress (I), DYCC Kiphire president S Lunso Yimchunger along with 60 ACCCC joint secretary, T Tangsemong; Village Congress Committee Mimi president, Lakhimba; Village Youth Congress president, Athrong and Village Youth Congress Khongka president, Tsulemong. NPF Kiphire appreciated them on their decision to join NPF with a view to strengthen the party under the leadership of party president, Dr. Shurhozielie and state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio. Further the resigned members have assured to extend full cooperation to uphold parliamentary secretary for CAWD, T. Torechu in the next general elections. WSSU general meet DIMAPUR: General meeting of Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) has been convened on February 13, 10:30am at the residence of its banker Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, Thahekhu village. Daniel H. Sumi, president WSSU has requested all unit presidents, advisors, pioneers and former executive members to attend the meeting. Body recovered Dimapur: An unidentified body of a male (non-local) aged around 40 was recovered by the police at Kuda market, Golaghat road on Saturday morning. According to police sources, the body injury marks on the head and has been kept at Civil Morgue, Dimapur. The deceased was wearing grey T-shirt and black pants.
