Responding to MLA and advisor sericulture and Cooperation Azheto Zhimo’s clarification on his visit to the teachers interview examinations, DCC stated it was “crystal clear” that a “doubtful motive on the integrity of the concerned board necessitated his presence on that fateful day of the interview”. DCC Dimapur general secretary and convener anti corruption cell H Kisheto Chishi said chairman of DPB had “nothing to do” with such competitive examinations as it was the sole responsibility of the District Selection Board and members appointed by the NBSE. It also questioned the authorization and questioned on what basis the MLA was allowed to enter the examination hall. DCC said that even though Dimapur district was represented by five MLAs, it was “unfortunate” that only the ruling MLA intruded under pretext of DPB chairman to fulfill his ‘vested interest’. It further stated the Congress party would never compromise on any matter related to discrimination, demanded immediate revocation of the exams held on February 4 and to conduct fresh examinations without political interference so that merit of the candidates prevail.
