Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) Tuesday communicated that it has blacklisted three “erring” 1st phase contractors of NH-155 under its jurisdiction with immediate effect. According to a faxed statement, jointly signed by ENSF president Hawang T. Wangsha and general secretary Changsang Soted, the resolution was adopted during presidential meeting held January 20 at ENSF office, Tuensang. Blacklisted contractor (s)/ firm(s) included Pele (Tuensang division), T.L. construction (Tuensang division) and Tarep (Kiphire division). The federation said it was compelled to undertake this “drastic step” after looking into their workmanship, which, it described, was not satisfactory, despite repeated appeal and notification served to those responsible. Further, the ENSF said that, henceforth, blacklisted contractors would not be allowed to carry out any contract works within its jurisdiction with immediate effect. It also directed them to immediately stop both 1st and 2nd phase ongoing contract works on NH-155, within ENSF jurisdiction, before any “unwanted situation” arises. Meanwhile, expressing happiness over some contractors, for carrying out their task sincerely, the federation further urged them to execute their work for better development.
