MC Konyak, DC Mon stress on importance of edn

A newly constructed EBRC center and a middle English (ME) school at Wakching was inaugurated at Wakching village by MC Konyak, minister for forest, ecology, environment, wildlife and excise on February 6. MC Konyak during his speech expressed gratitude to the SSA under education department for constructing the new office and for upgrading the ME school at Wakching. The minister encouraged the villagers to cooperate with one another and added there would be no development without cooperation. He also exhorted the villagers to be responsible and work for the upliftment of the village. While stating that such development was a positive sign of progress in Wakching village, also appealed the villagers not to “eat the seed, but work hard to harvest the fruit of their labour”. The minister also enlightened the villagers on the importance of sending their children to school, adding “..future depends upon our children, therefore education must be the parents’ first priority”. Deputy commissioner, Mon, Dinesh Kumar who also spoke on the occasion stated that Mon district had the lowest literacy rate in Nagaland and that HSLC result in the district was poor in the district. “The child is the pillar of our future; therefore both the parents and teachers have a crucial role to play in the upbringing of the child”, he added. The programme was attended by state mission authority, and district mission authority SSA.
