A twelve day’s training programme on entrepreneurship development on food processing is underway at Pfutsero from February 10 to 21. A total of 25 participants from 12 villages are attending the programme sponsored by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, New Delhi.
Rinku Bharali, SMS (Horticulture), KVK, Phek, Porba delivered the welcome address .The training programme was inaugurated by chief guest Kuko Mero, SDO (Civil), Pfutsero.
In his speech he urged the educated rural youth to take up small and medium enterprises to be self reliant. Dr. R.K. Singh, chairman and programme coordinator, KVK, Phek delivered a short speech where he emphasized the trainees to take keen interest in the programme and to stress on commercial agriculture through food processing.
Sanyi Dukru, vice chairman, APMC, Pfutsero also urged the youth to be target oriented and to put in sincere effort and take up enterprises in agricultural and allied activities. Dr. P. R. Dutta, thanked all the members present in the occasion.
The different topics during the training include entrepreneurial motivation, business opportunities available in food processing, book keeping and accountancy, project report preparation for micro and small enterprises, financial institutions and their schemes, marketing, fruits and vegetable processing and packaging, food processing machineries, approaches and planning for setting up of small scale units, food laws and standards.
Resource persons include officials from NABARD, Dimapur, KVK, Phek, Nagaland state agricultural marketing board, Kohima, SBI, Pfutsero, entrepreneurs, APMC, Pfutsero, department of agriculture Kiphirie.
