NLA speaker attends conference in Bhopal

The 47th conference of the secretaries and presiding officers of Legislative bodies in India was held at Bhopal from February 2 to 6. Speakers Conference was inaugurated by Meira Kumar, Speaker, Lok Sabha in the chamber of Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha while Secretaries Conference was inaugurated by the Secretary General, Lok Sabha, P.D.T. Achary in the Committee Hall of the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on February 2. From Nagaland Kiyanilie Peseyie, Speaker, accompanied by the Additional Secretary and officials of the Nagaland Assembly Secretariat attended the conference. An official bulletin informed that Kiyanilie Peseyie was nominated by the Chairperson Meira Kumar, Speaker Lok Sabha to the panel of Chairman of the Conference and he accordingly chaired the Conference in the afternoon session from 2:20 p.m. to 4 p.m. on February 3. The objective of the conference was to discuss matters relating to national interests and to exchange views on common interests amongst Legislative Assemblies and Legislative Councils in India.
