Longleng DPDB moots need for development

Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting –cum- new year picnic was held at Yongmon Singphang Bridge on February 9 under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner and vice chairman Longleng DPDB, C.K. Nihekhu. The board unanimously resolved to write to Power department for electrification at Longleng NST colony and also discussed on the application of Yongngam village for construction of rest house at Singphang River. Board members also resolved to approach elected member of the constituency to consider fund from NREGA scheme. According to an official bulletin, Longleng DPDB members discussed the agenda which were tabled by planning department and resolved to write to department in-charge for necessary action. Members discussed creation of the post of assistant commandant, home guards at Longleng. The board also discussed and resolved to write to department in-charge for construction of DBs’ quarters at Longleng and Tamlu. Longleng Town Council Chairman who spoke in the meeting also highlighted the development activities that took place during the last five years’ tenure of the Longleng Town Council, which would end on February 17 He urged DC and police officers to maintain law and order situation and expressed hope for creation of eco friendly developments in the district. .
