Kiyaneilie stresses on quality education

The Government Primary School (GPS), New Market Kohima new building with Four additional class rooms (ACRs) constructed under SSA was inaugurated on Tuesday by Kiyaneilie Peseyie, speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly as chief guest. In his address, Kiyaneilie Peseyie, congratulated the Ward Education Committee and School education department for the timely construction of the building and hoped the teachers, students and community would be benefited in the years ahead. The speaker also urged upon the teachers to impart quality education to the students and appealed to the parents to take their children as an asset, adding that parents take pride when children are good. He also appealed to the New Market colony people to cooperate and work with the government, so that more development takes place in colony. School Education director Nipusilie Angami said that the department was in the process of carrying out the re-deployment of teachers and urged upon the WECs to appraise the department on the re-deployment. He also asked all responsible to create a conducive and child-friendly school. The Bill of Right to Education means the duty to give and provide adequate infrastructure as per requirement and enrolment of the students for upgradation of schools is an obligation of the government, he added. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) mission director Angau Thou appealed to the teachers to rededicate themselves to the students for building up good citizens of the future through quality education. The Mission director also asked the WECs to check the attendance and performance of the teachers. A brief report of GMS building committee report was presented by Zeriizo Suohu. He stated that the building was successfully completed within 56 days and the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Nagaland sanctioned Rs. 8 lakhs for a four-room construction, whereas six rooms were constructed with a sum of Rs. 7.3 lakhs. Speaking on behalf of the panchayat, Vikehie Paphino, head GB thanked the teachers for rendering their services and bringing laurels to the school.
