Anti-Sikh riots case: Sajjan Kumar gets bail

A Delhi court has granted bail to Sajjan Kumar, who has been charge sheeted for his alleged role in the anti-Sikh riots case. The court posted the hearing on scrutiny of documents to March 30, reports TNN. The former outer Delhi MP was granted bail on furnishing a personal bond and surety of Rs 50,000 each by Addl Chief Magistrate Lokesh Kumar Sharma. Sajjan Kumar and others have been charged for their alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Kumar, against whom a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued earlier, was already granted anticipatory bail by the Delhi HC on February 26. Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation is probing these cases related to the riots during which over 3,000 Sikhs were killed in Delhi alone in the aftermath of the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi on Oct 31, 1984.
