Cong to field woman for RS

The Opposition Congress Party was likely to field a woman candidate for the election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat for Nagaland scheduled for March 26. Congress sources informed that Imdangla Aier, a former president Nagaland Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (NPMCC) was tipped to be the Congress candidate. When contacted over phone, NPCC president, I. Imkong who is in New Delhi said “We decided to field a woman candidate Imdangla Aier.” Congress party is yet to make official announcement. Meanwhile, the ruling NPF-led DAN government has announced its decision to re-nominate sitting Rajya Sabha MP, Khekiho Zhimomi (NPF).
