AR motor cycle rally arrives Kohima

Assam Rifles motorcycle peace rally team upon arrival at Chieswema Garrison under Kohima on Saturday.

As part of its 175th year celebration, the Assam Rifles Motor Cycle Peace Rally which was flagged off on March 2 from Delhi arrived Kohima on Saturday. The bikers have traversed through Guwahati, Lokra and Jorhat before reaching Kohima. The rally was welcomed at Chieswema Garrison by Brig Ved Prakash, Cdr 5 Sector and Col Rupinder Singh, Commandant 13 Assam Rifles. According to a statement from IGAR (N), the rally members would play a friendly Volleyball match with the local team on March 14 at Chieswema followed by their flag off on March 15 to Imphal. The objective of the rally is to garner goodwill and spread the message of peace and harmony in all the insurgency affected states of the north-east region of the country. “This is an attempt to reach the people of northeast and Assam Rifles have always been in northeast and they are doing a good job in northeast,” said Captain Devadesh of Assam Rifles.
