GPRN/NSCN has alleged that the NSCN (I-M) abducted one of its senior activists, ‘Lt.’ Ngampang Wangsu on March 6 while on his way to meet his relative at Khonsa Civil Hospital, the district headquarter of Tirap and killed him. “He was tortured mercilessly and was killed cold blooded the other day at Kaimai village by Hormey Tangkhul, the commander of NSCN (I-M) in Tirap,” the MIP GPRN/NSCN said in a statement. The GPRN/NSCN lamented that killing among the Nagas has resurfaced when the entire Naga people were “almost hopeful of peace coming in our land.” “With this inhuman and barbaric act the NSCN (I-M) has proved beyond doubt that, they are least bothered about the sentiments of the Naga people,” the MIP said. Stating that the recent spate of violence perpetrated by the NSCN (I-M) has created a “deep anguish” among the people, the MIP said it would be “difficult to let them walk free if, they continue their crime” against the Nagas of Tirap and Changlang since reconciliation and killing cannot go hand in hand. The GPRN/NSCN reaffirmed its commitment for reconciliation and rested their “full faith” in the FNR and the civil societies. It was optimistic that the civil societies would succeed in containing the crime perpetrated by the people who were inimical to the Naga society and prevent them from any future misadventure. “Otherwise, the NSCN may be forced to rethink on its commitment on reconciliation in Tirap and Changlang,” the MIP said.
