relief pours in for K. Wongthu fire victims

Yimchunger Tribal Council, Ashang Welfare Society Tuensang, BDO RD Block Chessore, VDB Union and VDB Kuthur village visited K. Wongthu village about 17 km from Tuensang district which was burnt down to ashes on March 5 due to Jhum fire. While visiting the site, the Yimchunger Tribal Council on Sunday donated some cash amount to eleven persons of fire victims whose houses and household goods were burn down while burning jhum field. Kiu’s Chuba, Working president YTC, urged villagers to be alert on such untimely incident and also to protect themselves from wild fire in future for the safety of the people. Also encouraging the villagers Yanba Showuba, Chairman Executive Council YTC, appealed the people to have more courage, faithful and sincerity as such untimely incident might occur at any time. YTC has thanked District Administration, various organizations/ NGO’s, civil societies and well wishers who contributed generously and extended helpfinancially, physically and materially towards fire victims of K. Wongthu village. Meanwhile, BDO RD Block Chessore, VDB Union, VDB Kuthur village on Saturday also distributed CGI sheet, utensils and some cash towards K. Wongthu village fire victims It may be mentioned that 27 houses including, granaries including household goods were gutted in the fire. Plantation projects including Passion fruit, Cardamom and bamboo plantation were also burnt down completely in the inferno.
