Landowners association of Aoyimti village and Hollohon colony have reiterated its earlier demand for compensation on “colossal” amount invested due to alleged blunder of the state government. The landowners association of Aoyimti village and Hollohon colony expressing ire over state government’s approach to demands of the landowners said government’s unwarranted letter canceling the extension without any valid reasons was against the principle of natural justice and reminded authorities on their earlier demand for compensation. It also stated that with the insistence of state government and Airport Authority of India (AAI), landowners parted with their land but despite all sacrifices, dedications and loyalties, the government offered “stone instead of bread”. The landowners stated that government conducted the survey knowing fully that national highway and petrol pumps were situated within the vicinity of Dimapur airport but the government had said the airport could not be materialized due to presence of National Highway and petrol pumps.
