Myntdu-Leshka Stage-II power project allotted

The Meghalaya Cabinet has decided to allot Myntdu-Leshka Stage-II power project to Meghalaya State Electricity Board (MeSEB). The power project had earlier been alloted to SEW Energy Limited for developing the 280 MW power project. “We have decided to allot the power project to MeSEB as per the recommendation of the empowered committee on Power,” Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Power, Dr Mukul M Sangma said. He said the cabinet, however decided to compensate SEW Energy Limited with power projects on Umngi river --- Rangmaw storage and Nonrang run-off river projects -- located in State’s East Khasi Hills district. In another major cabinet decisions, the government has approved to provide financial assistance of Rs 25,000 to 383 adhoc upper primary schools for paying of salary to one teachers.
