Sunday closure in Kma

After, Dimapur, the Kohima Municipal Council on Wednesday directed closure of business establishments/shops under its jurisdiction on Sundays, exempting pharmacies, restaurant/ hotels, petrol pumps, barber/ saloon shops, confectionaries/ bakeries, pco’s, parlors and travel agencies. KMC executive officer, Alun Hangsing through a notification warned that violator/defaulters would be penalized accordingly. Through a separate release, the KMC also issued order strictly prohibiting selling of ‘second hand’ goods, vegetables and other products on the footpath/street within Kohima Municipal area and warned of penalization. The KMC reiterated its earlier notification prohibiting burning of dust/waste-bins. Further, the KMC also directed all bakeries within its jurisdiction to construct chimneys at a minimum height of 30 feet within 30 days w.e.f the date of issue of the order. (Correspondent)
