CBCC music training begins

Four-day music training conducted by youth department of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) for local Churches youth music directors started on March 16 at Mission Centre, T.Chikri, Pfutsero. The training imparts Basic course of music like tonic sol-fa, staff notation, guitar, key board, conducting, vocal, and composing songs. Topics on role of youth director, qualification of music director, organizing choir and selection of songs, power of music and revamping the Church through music were imparted in the training. The resource persons included, Rev. Vezopa Tetseo, Rev. Senokhape Losou, Dr. Kowepe Kanuo, Puthitso Sakhamo, Rüyopoi (Apoi) Nyekha, Atuo Sami, Velacüyi Khamo, Küzhopoyo Tünyi, Rükuzo Rüho and Avi Zholia. Rev. Vezopa Tetseo, executive secretary, CBCC in his introductory speech cited the life and story of David, the great skilled musician in the Bible. He asserted that not only singing is important, but one’s life style and character spoke volumes and is equally important. Stressing the necessity to witness Christ through music/singing, he challenged the youth with a message “Music leaders are Gospel bearer- sing, preach and lives according to it”. Altogether, 120 delegates from 94 Churches registered their names for the training.
