Having learnt that the Director of School Education was under scanner for removal from the department and to be replaced by another officer from other department, various associations under the department of school education have conveyed its desire to have the officer proven guilty and chargesheeted if liable to be punished, in the event of his removal.
Altogether three associations and two department representatives said in a representation to the chief secretary that only a department cadre under school education should hold the post of the director as per Service Rules. They said no other officer from other department would be accepted to head the department. They requested the chief secretary to look into the issue and review the decision if already taken, in the interest of the department of school education.
The associations said that the present director of school education and all his subordinate officers have been extending full cooperation to the SIT in matter of investigation. Stating that they welcomed any action taken against any officer including the director, if found guilty, the associations, however, said they would not remain silent spectators, if and when government picked and chose any officer for any action to be taken without being proven guilty.
The representation was signed by representatives of Nagaland School Education Administrative Officers’ Association, All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association, Nagaland Government Higher Secondary School Officers’ Association and two other department representatives.
