Water supply to state capital had gained momentum with PHED commencing the works.
On Friday, PHED working technical group led by Er. Repang Longkumer and other staff started work at Zaru stream ( Dzuu river) Friday for ambitious Kohima water supply augmentation project to tap water from Zaru stream (Dzuu river) to Kohima.

It may be mentioned that on February 15, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was between the Government of Nagaland, represented by Zhaleo Rio, IAS, Secretary PHED and Village Councils of Mima and Kezoma villages, water source owners, in presence of Neiphiu Rio, state Chief Minister.
PHED official informed that project is taken up on priority basis for providing 32.4 million litres per day for feeding a population of 2,40,000 and, once completed, should significantly ease the water shortage problem in Kohima town
