In view of water scarcity in the state capital and amount of hardship faced by its citizens, Kohima Village Council (KVC) has urged Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to complete the ongoing water supply project to Kohima village latest by March 31.
A press release issued by KVC secretary, Neisakhoto Solo stated that following KVC’s representation to state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio on March 2006 and as instructed by chief minister to provide water supply, the project work started in 2009.
However, the work hardly covered two third of total length and water pipeline was also damaged even before completion of the work.
In this regard, Kohima Village Council has demanded the project to be completed by the end of March failing which, it cautioned that village would resort to ‘any action’ to draw attention of the department in charge.
