The department of Science and Technology in collaboration with Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata conducted the first Winter School in Bioinformation from March 8 to 12 at Kohima. Altogether, 17 Naga research scholars attended the programme from different fields such as IT, Education, Horticulture, Biotechnology and Medicine. Topics taught during the programme included stems level understanding of biological systems, proteins, cell elements, soft computing, genetic algorithm, pattern recognitions and fuzzy logic. The participants expressed satisfaction over the programme and urged for more such programmes in view of dynamic nature of the emerging fields in science and technology be organized.
