This was announced by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, C.M. Tsanglao who convened a meeting of district administration and security forces officers on Friday to take stock of the law and order situation in the district. According to an official bulletin, the meeting was necessitated in view of the proposed six-hour bandh call by a Congress party in Nagaland state on March 20.
Meanwhile, Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) in a letter addressed to Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung has requested the district administration to make necessary arrangement and mobilization of security in and around town during the bandh for protection of properties of MCCI members.
Reiterating the incident on November 26, 2007 where more than dozen of its members were affected and till date government had not compensated, MCCI said proper security arrangement was the need of the hour to avoid unnecessary vandalism and loss of properties of the MCCI members in and around the town.
