EUUN, V&AH joint meet

A joint meeting of department of veterinary and animal husbandry (V&AH) and Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EUUN) was held on March 17 at the conference chamber of the department where members exchanged views in providing better service to the people.
The director, Yisao Lotha and other officials of (V&H) represented department while EUUN was represented by its president and general secretary.
According to EUUN president, Achilo Thong and general secretary, Ezanbemo Erui, the meeting discussed some errors in the system for rectification.
The EUUN representing the aspiration of younger generation expressed to the department that the union had no hard feeling against the department or its officials nor is against the government. However, the union opined that their struggle was to deliver justice in the interest of future generation.
Observing the imbalance of employment and the gap between the rich and the poor in the society, the union highlighted its intend to provide constructive opinion and healthy criticism to equally benefit the grass root level people and the younger generation.
EUUN reiterated that due to imbalance of employment opportunity in the state, the rich have become getting richer and the poor poorer and cautioned the alarming increase of unemployment problems.
EUUN as the apex NGO entirely working for unemployed people of Nagaland also expressed disappointment over the lack of transparency and accountability in the department as a result of which a large section of people have been deprived of the rightful opportunities for self-employment.
EUUN put forward the demand to department to decentralize schemes and projects under the department and sub-divisions.
The projects entirely covering single tribes be allotted separate quota and treated as mini district, empowering the responsible district officers to fulfil their obligations towards needy people, so that fund could reach out in every corner of the state and educated unemployed be considered under the schemes and projects for self-employment.
In the meeting, various department officers expressed problems faced by the department and opted for a better change in accordance with the needs of the people. The director assured EUUN for a significant change in the interest of the younger generation. The meeting was chaired by the director of V&AH department.
