Nagaland In Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) has expressed full support to 6th ROP demand forum. A joint release issued by NIDA president Dr. Hotokhu Chishi and general secretary Dr Imkongtemsu Longchar stated that 6th RP had already been facilitated to All India service employees wef January 1, 2006 and they are receiving the benefits from the state exchequer and not separately from the Government of India.
Further, NIDA said ‘step- motherly treatment’ was unreasonable and unacceptable and the same provisions for central service employees should be implemented in toto for all state employees also with effect from January 2006.
NIDA also endorsed ‘unflinching’ support for participating in all democratic activities of 6th ROP demand forum and said that it had also learnt the cabinet had reviewed its earlier decision on specialist Allowance and NPA but there was no official confirmation so far or to its representation No. NIDA /Misc/2009 dated December 22, 2009. It therefore requested the government to issue a notification on specialist allowance and NPA at the earliest in the interest and welfare of working doctors.
